Q: Do you hate electronic music?

A: No. It just often features melodies that are made to be epic rather than an actual interesting melody. The only exception here is trance because it features melodic beats, with variety in the melody too and with some acoustic instruments, which I truly LOVE. Some trance songs don't do this though, like Winterbliss by cycerin. It's fine though and it's just my silly little personal opinion.

Q: What would you recommend?

A: If you are a beginner to this site and love electronic music, I'd recommend making trance first; you do want to make a melodic piece for your first song, right?

Q: Is trance even THAT good?

A: Absolutely! It's amazing! In fact, I am planning my best song to be a trance song! Trance actually has a LOT of freedom when it comes to melodies; that's the whole point of trance music.

This will be the last post where I talk about making music without actually doing anything.

I plan on making very liminal sounding tunes in the future. However there aren't many songs that I find to be an 11/10, so I will do this for like my first 10 songs, so 9 more. I will aim at dream trance for these songs with some good old drums!

Atmosphere: (3 points)

Judges how I generally find the song as.

Mixing: (2 points)

Judges how well the song feels with each song note. (aka mixing)

Feeling: (2 points)

Just how epic it feels. Music only good for Geometry Dash levels don't apply here.

Emotion: (3 points)

How epic and fun the song is to listen to. Very subjective but hey. You gotta give your best shot at an objective opinion and not be too disingenuous about how good the song is. However don't be too biased and remember that no opinion is an objective fact. An objective opinion is your true opinion on the song, and not a fact.

Originality: (1 point)

Honestly I don't care if your song is unoriginal. I make sampled music all the time, but make sure your song is original enough to not get stuck in my head too much and as a result, be classified as an average song to me.

Not really a liminal space. It just reminded me of some liminal spaces. I like it. Btw getting point(s) for emotion in your song can get you a 9/10, 10/10 or 11/10.

I am currently working on a song that predominantly uses samples, but also has some original aspects to it so that I am not composing my song entirely out of samples because that might break the rules lol idk.

I will ensure that the song is suitable for Newgrounds before publishing it, and I will do anything to change the song if something in it broke the rules. Not much else to say here. Just know that I will ensure that the song and its license for people to use (since it contains third-party samples) is good for the site.

By the way, since photography is not allowed for the art portal, I will share liminal spaces I took here. Oh, and 7 other songs I am working on will use samples. After that, I will consider being more original.
